This week a year ago, I was preparing to leave my home for a month-long journey of healing. The goal- deal with the effects of trauma and stabilize my roller coaster of moods. I wanted to sleep again. I wanted my life back.

Fast forward a year to today, January 23, 2018. Today, a collection of poems, Stars, that I am blessed to have been a part of has been released. I have five poems featured in the collection that deal with the very issues that I was able to finally give a real voice to a year ago. I am still a work in progress, but in many ways, I am freer than I have ever been.
