You are not a burden- pt 1

"Hope is real.  Help is real.  Your story is important"

(-TWLOHA)

September 10, 2022, 10 days from now, is World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD).  Once again, this year I will be spotlighting To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA) and their campaign.  This year's theme is "You are not a burden".  For the 10 days leading up to September 10th I want to remind you that you are indeed NOT a burden.  I will be posting resources and snippets of my own story.  Please feel free to leave a comment if you feel inclined.  Why 10 days this year instead of just the week leading up?  Because this year marks 10 years, a full decade since I attempted suicide.  Thanks to many community resources, medication, family, and friends’ support I am here today to tell my story.  I did not see it clearly then, but I am reminded now that I am not a burden.  My mental health is something that I deal with and invite others to journey alongside me.  You are not a burden, and I am here to journey with you.
