You are not a burden -pt 6
Vulnerability means opening the door in the hope of not suffering in silence.
That is what I tell myself when I start to share my story with someone new.
That is what I told myself before sharing my story with you.
Posting daily has reminded me more than anything that everyone has a different story. My story is uniquely mine, and yours is uniquely yours. They are both important and valid.
Ten years ago, my story being valid was not something I was not able to see. I was clouded by shame and engulfed in pain. I could not see any of the love surrounding me.
It did not happen overnight by any means, but I crawled out of the space I was once in with the help of mental health professionals, aided by medication, and the support of friends and family. It took a village. Everyone’s village looks different. But there is hope and there is help. You are not a burden.
"Hope is real. Help is real. Your story is important". (-TWLOHA.)
