Airing my dirty laundry

There is a difference between having a problem and acting to change your situation.

Recently my problem was that my laundry was all over my living room and needed to be put away.  The solution seems like a simple one.  Put the clothes up.  In the past, during bouts of depression, the clothes would have sat there until they were dirty again.

Acting to change one’s situation takes special energy sometimes.  Sometimes it takes baby steps.  One or two pieces of laundry every time I pass through the living room.  Sometimes it takes getting help to get out of that depression.  Sometimes it takes radical acceptance that you are doing the best you can at the moment and that is enough.
