Resolve to Rest- A Response

I resolved to rest 

And rest I did

Sweet slumber took over

As Christmas came and went

Heavy eyelids

Gentle snores

Covers drawn tight over my head

A body

A mind

A soul

In need not just of rest

But a reset

before the new year

A new year that promised new victories

But also new challenges 

New wars to fight

New muscle needed

Physically and mentally

And so I rested
